About the Makers
Simon Waranch is an artist at the vanguard of fine art glass sculpture.
Blending a mastery of classical techniques with imaginative formal experimentation, Waranch’s work reflects his own wit, zest for life, and obsessive reverence for his medium.
His love affair with glass has garnered him, to this point, five solo museum exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions throughout the United States and Italy.
A graduate of Booker T Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and the College for Creative studies in Detroit, Waranch’s work is held in the permanent collections of the Longview Museum of Fine Art, the Imagine Museum, and the Museum of the Southwest. He is represented by seven fine art galleries across the United States and Canada.
Sydnie Peebles is the visionary & founder behind Sydnie Banks hand-stitched luxury handbags. She specializes in creating one-of-one sculptural handbags made with age-old techniques. Her work has been seen on the runway at New York Fashion Week and she has been featured in Elle UK as the, “Global Fashion Brand Feature of the Year.”
In 2010 Sydnie stumbled upon a Youtube Video of a Hungarian man hand-making a pair of mens dress shoes. Instantly, she knew she wanted to work with leather. This desire led her to apprentice with world-renowned cowboy boot maker, Lisa Sorell.
Lisa told Sydnie, “A cowboy boot is the hardest thing to make in leatherwork. If you can learn to make a cowboy boot, you will be able to make anything.”
After receiving her art degree Sydnie decided to transition her work from footwear to hand-stitched handbags. Sydnie traveled to Winston, England to train one-on-one with master saddle-stitcher Charlie Trevor, in efforts to learn the art of hand-stitching. She launched her hand-stitched luxury handbag brand, Sydnie Banks in 2022. Since then, her exquisite craftsmanship has been showcased in prominent publications and platforms including Fashion Channel, ELLE UK, ELLE Metropolitan, Flying Solo, RISE NYFW, Weekly Style, LUXIERE Magazine, 405 Magazine and Fashion Week Online. Sydnie and her husband Christopher reside in Edmond, Oklahoma, where they are raising their four children.
